Bell Pepper Steak (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.
02 - 1 pound beef steak (flank, sirloin, or ribeye), thinly sliced.
03 - 1 onion, sliced.
04 - 1 teaspoon cornstarch.
05 - 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced.
06 - 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced.
07 - 2 tablespoons soy sauce.
08 - 1 garlic clove, minced.
09 - 2 teaspoons ginger, finely grated.
10 - 1 tablespoon oyster sauce.
11 - 1/4 cup water or beef broth.
12 - Sprinkle of salt and pepper.

# Instructions:

01 - In a bowl, stir together oyster sauce, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Toss the sliced beef into the mix and make sure it's coated. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.
02 - Heat a tablespoon of oil over high flame in a large skillet. Spread the beef out in a single layer and sear for roughly 2 minutes per side until browned. Take it off the heat and set aside.
03 - Pour the rest of the oil into the same pan. Toss in the sliced peppers and onion. Cook for about 4 minutes until they're tender but still slightly crunchy.
04 - Drop in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir them around for a minute, just long enough for the lovely smell to come out.
05 - Put the seared beef back in the skillet. Pour in the broth, and mix everything thoroughly. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens up. Finish with a pinch of salt and pepper.

# Notes:

01 - Cutting the meat against the grain makes it easier to chew.
02 - Pairs best with freshly steamed rice.
03 - Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
