01 -
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon. Add diced onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion softens, about 5 minutes.
02 -
Stir in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
03 -
While the beef mixture simmers, preheat the oven to 190°C. In a small bowl, combine softened butter with minced garlic.
04 -
Evenly spread the garlic butter on both sides of each bread slice. Arrange the bread on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 5–7 minutes until golden brown.
05 -
Generously spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture over each toasted bread slice. Sprinkle with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
06 -
Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and is bubbling.
07 -
Garnish the melts with chopped fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately while warm.
