Tangy Sweet Coleslaw (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dressing Ingredients

01 - 1½ tablespoons apple cider vinegar for a vibrant tang
02 - 1 teaspoon horseradish, or more if you want a bit of heat!
03 - ½ cup mayonnaise (full-fat for the creamiest result)
04 - A couple of tablespoons of heavy cream or half and half
05 - 1½ tablespoons sugar to balance out the flavors
06 - ½ teaspoon celery salt for that special something
07 - An onion (grated finely to get all the juice; use yellow or white)
08 - ¼ teaspoon white pepper, or black if that's what you’ve got

→ Main Slaw Ingredients

09 - 6 cups of cabbage, shredded (a 14.5-ounce bag works too!)
10 - ½ cup shredded carrots, whether freshly grated or store-bought pre-shreds

# Instructions:

01 - Take a medium-sized bowl and whisk together your mayo, cream, sugar, cider vinegar, grated onion (don’t forget the juice!), horseradish, pepper, and celery salt. Stir until it’s smooth. Have a quick taste and tweak it according to your preference—more sugar for sweetness or an extra splash of vinegar if you’re feeling bold. Trust your instincts here!
02 - Put your cabbage and carrots into a big bowl. Pour the dressing you just made over the top and gently mix everything together. Use a spatula or big spoon to coat the veggies evenly—it’s worth the effort to make sure everything’s covered nicely.
03 - Cover the bowl using a lid or some plastic wrap, then stick it in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours to let the flavors mix and mingle. For the best results, give it up to 6-12 hours. The cabbage will turn softer (but still crunchy), and everything will taste amazing.
04 - Right before serving, toss the slaw one last time to bring the dressing back to life. It’s great alongside BBQ, sandwiches, or even just by itself as a tangy snack. Want to make it fancy? Serve in a bowl with some cabbage leaves lining the edges.

# Notes:

01 - A perfect mix of tangy and sweet that hits the spot!
02 - The flavor gets even better the longer it sits in the fridge!
03 - Want more crunch or color? Add diced bell peppers or some green onions.
04 - Pairs like a dream with fried chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, or your favorite BBQ dishes.
