Turkey Sausage Patties (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main ingredients

01 - 1 teaspoon ground sage
02 - 1 lb ground turkey (85% lean)
03 - 1 teaspoon sea salt
04 - 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
05 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup
06 - ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
07 - ½ teaspoon black pepper
08 - 1 teaspoon garlic powder
09 - ¼ teaspoon dried thyme

→ Cooking oil

10 - 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for frying)

# Instructions:

01 - Grab a big bowl and gently stir together the ground turkey, maple syrup, vinegar, salt, and all the seasonings. Go slow with a spatula so everything mixes evenly.
02 - Split the turkey mix into 8 parts, around 2 ounces per portion. Roll each into a ball by hand, then gently press them down. Aim for 3 inches wide and about half an inch thick. Keep them the same size for even cooking.
03 - Warm up about ½ tablespoon olive oil in a decent-sized skillet over medium heat. Toss a few patties in the pan, but don’t crowd them. Let one side brown for 4–5 minutes, then flip.
04 - Flip the patties to the other side and finish cooking for another 4–5 minutes. Make sure the inside hits at least 165°F. Take them out and do the same for the rest, adding tiny amounts of olive oil to the pan when needed.

# Notes:

01 - If the syrup causes quick browning, turn the heat down a bit while cooking.
