Homemade Easy Cheesy Pizza Pockets (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Dough

01 - 1 package refrigerated pizza dough
02 - or 1 package crescent roll dough (for a flakier texture)
03 - Homemade pizza dough (optional substitute)

→ Filling

04 - 120 ml marinara or pizza sauce
05 - 150 g shredded mozzarella cheese
06 - 25 g grated Parmesan cheese
07 - 30 g mini pepperoni or cooked sausage (optional)
08 - 30 g chopped bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives (optional)
09 - 1 tsp Italian seasoning
10 - Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

→ Topping

11 - 1 egg, beaten
12 - Dried oregano or garlic powder (for garnish)

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat the oven to 190°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into squares or circles approximately 10x10 cm each.
03 - Spread a spoonful of marinara sauce on each dough piece, leaving the edges clear. Top with shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, and any desired fillings. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, if using.
04 - Fold each prepared dough piece over the filling to create a pocket. Press edges firmly with a fork to seal.
05 - Brush the tops of each pocket with beaten egg. Finish with a sprinkle of dried oregano or garlic powder.
06 - Transfer the pockets to the prepared baking tray. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
07 - Let the pizza pockets cool slightly before serving. Serve with additional marinara sauce for dipping.

# Notes:

01 - Ensure the edges are tightly sealed to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
02 - For extra crispiness, bake on the lower rack.
