Crispy Homemade Sourdough Croutons (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Ingredients

01 - 2 pounds of tender sourdough bread
02 - ⅔ cup of good-quality olive oil

→ Seasonings

03 - ¾ teaspoon of ground garlic powder
04 - ¾ teaspoon of fine salt
05 - ¾ teaspoon of onion powder

→ Optional Seasonings

06 - 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary
07 - 1 teaspoon of Italian herb blend
08 - ½ to 1 teaspoon of smoky paprika
09 - 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
10 - ½ teaspoon of black pepper
11 - 2 teaspoons of dried parsley flakes
12 - ¼ teaspoon of cayenne for a spicy kick
13 - 2 tablespoons of freshly shredded Parmigiano cheese

# Instructions:

01 - Start by setting your oven to 375°F to preheat.
02 - Chop the loaf into small cubes that are even in size. Freeze fresh bread for 15-20 minutes beforehand if you'd like cleaner cuts.
03 - Stir the olive oil together with seasonings in a big bowl. Toss in the bread cubes and mix until they’re coated well.
04 - Lay the seasoned cubes evenly across a couple of baking sheets laid with parchment paper.
05 - Pop them in the oven for 15–20 minutes. Stir halfway so they brown evenly, and bake until golden and crunchy.
06 - Let them cool off completely before using or keep them in a sealed container.

# Notes:

01 - The recipe proportions can be scaled down if needed.
02 - Keep in an airtight container for about a week.
03 - Feel free to switch up the flavors with different herbs and spices.
