Get your oven hot at 350°F. Put parchment or a silicone mat on a small cookie tray.

Stir together the butter, sugar, yolk from the egg, vanilla and red coloring until smooth.

Drop in the flour, cocoa, soda and salt over the wet mix. Gently fold until just blended.

Split dough into 6 equal bits, shape into balls, coat in sugar and place apart on your tray.

Cook for 10-12 mins until they flatten and crack. Cool 2 mins on the tray before moving to rack.

When cookies cool for 10 mins, push a chocolate heart into each center. Chill 30 mins in fridge to firm up.
