Coat your crockpot with a nonstick spray to keep food from sticking.

Start with the diced onion spread across the bottom. Lay the chicken breasts directly on top of the onions.

Sprinkle the au jus and ranch mixes evenly over the chicken. Add the pepperoncinis all around, then pour their juice into the pot.

Place the butter slices over the chicken to finish the layering.

Put the lid on and let it cook. Use the low setting for about 6 to 8 hours or set it to high for 4 to 5 hours, until the chicken is tender.

When done, shred the chicken with two forks and stir everything together until well mixed.
