Smoky Sweet Spicy Little Smokies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ For the Cocktail Sausages

01 - 400 g cocktail sausages (beef or turkey, such as Little Smokies)

→ For the Sauce

02 - 180 ml smoky barbecue sauce
03 - 100 g brown sugar
04 - 15–30 ml sriracha or hot sauce, adjusted to taste
05 - 15 ml Worcestershire sauce
06 - 2.5 g smoked paprika
07 - A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional, for added heat)

# Instructions:

01 - In a mixing bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, sriracha, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika until fully combined. Add red pepper flakes if increased heat is desired.
02 - Place the cocktail sausages in a medium saucepan or the bowl of a slow cooker. Pour the prepared sauce mixture over the sausages and stir to evenly coat all pieces.
03 - Simmer over medium-low heat for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sausages are heated through and the sauce has thickened.
04 - For a slow cooker, cook on low for 2–3 hours or on high for 1–1.5 hours, stirring occasionally, until fully warmed and the sauce has achieved a glossy, thick consistency.
05 - Transfer to a serving dish and offer warm, accompanied by toothpicks for easy serving.

# Notes:

01 - For optimal flavor, allow the sausages to gently simmer so the sauce infuses and thickens without burning. Stir periodically to prevent sticking.
