Homemade Classic Cafeteria Pizza (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Pizza Base

01 - 3 tablespoons of cornmeal
02 - 4 tablespoons of olive oil
03 - 1 pound of store-bought pizza dough

→ Toppings

04 - 1 pound of ground Italian sausage (mild)
05 - 4 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
06 - 3 tablespoons of Italian seasoning mix
07 - 1 jar (13 ounces) of pizza sauce

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat your oven to 400°F. Coat a sheet pan with 3 tablespoons of olive oil, making sure it’s spread evenly with a pastry brush. Sprinkle on some cornmeal for that crunchy finish.
02 - Stretch the pizza dough into a rectangle and fit it onto your sheet pan. If it keeps shrinking back, try letting it rest for 5 minutes—it’ll make the job easier.
03 - In a pan over medium-high heat, warm up the last tablespoon of olive oil till it’s shimmering. Add the Italian sausage and season it with the Italian seasoning. Cook for about 7-8 minutes until it’s no longer pink, and then get rid of any extra grease.
04 - Bake the crust in your oven for around 7-8 minutes. You’re looking for it to firm up and just start to turn a little golden.
05 - Spread the pizza sauce all the way to the edges of your crust. Scatter the cooked sausage on top, then cover it generously with mozzarella. Bake for another 8-10 minutes until the cheese is melty and starting to brown slightly. Slice into 8 rectangles—just like those classic school lunches!
